*Born in Cardiff, raised in Barry, now living in Brighton after a long spell in London (and a much shorter one in Paris)

*Over thirty years in music journalism, including nine as writer and section editor at Melody Maker (1988-1997) and twelve as Rock & Pop Critic at the Independent On Sunday (2001-2013). Freelance contributor for publications including Q, TheQuietus, The Guardian, The Observer, The Word, Mojo, Uncut, Time Out, Metro, Attitude, The Times, The Sunday Express, Penthouse, Bang, Select, The Face, Spin, Dazed & Confused, New Humanist, eMusic, Wondering Sound, Bluffer's, Rolling Stone (Germany), Electronic Sound, Western Mail, Barry & District News, Louder Than War, The Big Issue, Vox, Ikon, The Stool Pigeon, Crack, Hobo, House Of Dolls and Metal Hammer.
